Beauty Retreat:
Visual Identity for a Beauty Studio
A complete visual identity for a beauty and wellness studio whose service language sits between salon, retreat, and luxury skincare. The system reads as elegant, calm, and individual, never the cliché spa palette of beige + serif lockup that ten other studios in the same district already use.
The problem
A boutique beauty studio that wanted to read as "wellness retreat" rather than "downtown salon": the local market is saturated with near-identical visual language (beige + script logotype + spa stock photography), and a generic brand would have made the studio invisible inside its own category.
The system also had to scale across surfaces the founder builds by hand: signage in a small physical space, packaging for a small product line, social-media templates that a non-designer can use without breaking the system, and printed collateral for partner referrals.
The approach
Wordmark before mood
Built the logo as a custom B+R monogram fused with a leaf motif, beauty meets nature meets luxury, encoded in the mark itself rather than in the supporting illustrations. Every other surface inherits geometry, weight and rhythm from that one mark, so the brand reads consistently even when the photography or copy is off-brand.
Palette + type as a unit
A muted off-white paired with a gold accent does the "luxury" work; the type pairing: display serif on a clean sans body, does the "calm + considered" work. The combination keeps the system warm without falling into the beige-serif default that defines the rest of the category.
System the founder can run
Brandbook + Figma component library + ready-to-publish social templates + packaging + signage in one pack. Documented at the level of "open file → drop in new content → export" so the founder doesn’t need a designer in the loop for day-to-day runs of the system.
Deliverables
- Logo + monogram
- Brandbook
- Visual identity system
- Type pairing
- Colour palette
- Packaging design
- Signage applications
- Social-media templates
“The brief was ‘wellness retreat, not downtown salon’ in a category where every other studio defaults to beige and a script logotype. The B+R monogram does the differentiation work in the mark itself, so the system still reads correctly when the photography or copy slips. That is how a brand survives once the founder is running it without a designer in the loop.”
Identity system
In the frames
What the gallery above actually shows, frame by frame.
- The B+R monogram set inside a circular gold seal, the one mark that carries “beauty meets nature meets luxury” on its own, so the system still reads when photography or copy slips.
- The wordmark in a calligraphic script over charcoal-and-gold photography: the “retreat, not salon” register in a single frame.
- Brand pillars drawn as five overlapping circles: Wellness, Luxury, Recreation, Elegance, Self-care, with Beauty Retreat at the intersection: the positioning the founder can repeat without a designer in the room.
- Colour for light and colour for dark: a near-black and an off-white ground, and a five-stop gold ramp, every value documented in HEX, RGB and CMYK for signage, packaging and screen alike.

Where this sits in our work today
This is the studio’s own Visual Identity engagement, end to end, designed in-house at Funky Rabbit in 2025: mark, system, brandbook, templates, packaging and signage, documented so the founder runs it without us. The same engagement is what the pricing page describes today, the range below is the one this project belongs to.
Visual identity published range $2.5k-$9k typically 2-3 weeks focused, 5 weeks standard, 6-8 weeks with applications and rollout all prices
Who an engagement like this fits
- Your category has a visual cliché, beige and a serif, or whatever the equivalent is in yours, and being mistaken for it is the actual risk.
- One person decides. A solo-founder engagement moves at the pace of one calendar, and this one did.
- The identity has to survive print as well as screen: signage, packaging, a price list someone photographs.
If none of these describe you, say so on the free 15-minute audit and we will tell you what would fit, including when the answer is not us.
“I hired Maria for logo design and a brand book and honestly did not expect such a high-level result in such a short time. She understood the brand vision immediately and translated it into a strong visual identity. The process was smooth, communication fast, and every revision was handled with attention to detail. The brand book is structured, clear, and ready for real business use.”
Frequently asked
Who did the work on Beauty Retreat?
Mariia led it at Funky Rabbit in 2025, strategy, mark, system, templates, packaging and signage. Of the four cases on this site it is the one done entirely inside the studio.
What did the founder get, exactly?
Eight deliverables: logo and monogram, brandbook, the visual identity system, type pairing, colour palette, packaging, signage applications and social-media templates, documented at the level of open the file, drop in new content, export, so no designer is needed for the day-to-day.
What would this cost today?
It is a Visual Identity engagement: $2.5k-$9k on our pricing page, the same range every visitor sees. Where a project lands inside it depends on how many surfaces the system has to cover.
Can I see the full project?
Yes: the complete case is on Behance under Visual Identity for Beauty Studio, and the client's own words are on our testimonials page.
